A lecture by Spanish architect Francisco Martinez

On Thursday, 8 March, 16.00 a public lecture Under Construction by Spanish architect Francisco Martinez will be held at the level 1 atrium of the National Library of Latvia (NLL). Free entrance. The lecture will be held in English.

Under Construction will be a presentation of the process in creating the architecture, the evolution of the architecture project through different phases, from concept until construction, in order to preserve the design ambitions. The lecture will complement the exhibition of architecture students at the NLL exhibition hall (Level 1).

Architect Francisco Martinez studied architecture and art at ETSAV in Valencia and at the School of Architecture of Paris La Défense. In parallel with his projects as a partner of the Kubota & Bachmann Architects, he has collaborated with Jean Nouvel (2000–2006) on the Agbar Tower project (Barcelona), and OMA (2010–2018) on the Bibliothèque Multimédia à Vocation Régionale, Caen, France.

Francisco Martinez is a guest tutor at RISEBA FAD for the spring semester of 2017/2018.
