Latvian Databases
The database of the national news agency LETA offers information on political, social and culture events in Latvia, the Baltic States and the world; it also provides business information services Nozare.lv, which collects and systematizes new and topical information about the processes in 30 most important branches of business in Latvia.

Letonika.lv is a portal providing reference information, terminology of various sectors, translation dictionaries, unique and high quality resources on Latvia in Latvian. At present it is possible to read and search for information in 10 encyclopaedias, use dictionaries in more than 10 translation directions, to view separately graphic pictures, audio and visual recordings, search for information in Latvian Internet and Internet catalogue in the portal.

The database of the publisher Applied Information Service contains approximately 75 000 legal documents that have been approved and entered into force in the Republic of Latvia after 1990, as well as the legal documents of the European Union. The database is regularly updated, ensuring continuous access to the updated versions of the legal documents of the Republic of Latvia and the European Union.

LURSOFT "Newspaper Library"
Lursoft newspaper database offers publications of Latvian newspapers, which is updated daily with the new issues. The database offers the possibility to read the publications in the Internet, as well as to search for the articles according to chosen parameters and to comment upon them. The newspaper archive is predominantly available from 1994, the official journal Latvijas Vēstnesis” - 2000.

Foreign Databases
Special search and browsing software of the company EBSCO, which provides one point of access to full magazine texts from the foreign databases that the NLL subscribes to (EBSCO, JSTOR, Cambridge Journals Online, SpringerLINK, EASTVIEW etc.), as well as to scholarly magazines in social sciences and humanities in foreign languages that are freely accessible on the Internet. The search can be performed according to the magazine title, subject of key word, as well as by browsing the list of magazines according to branches or in alphabetic order.

Dawsonera is new, progressive software that contains a catalogue of ebooks for purchase by libraries. Readers of the National Library of Latvia have an opportunity to access it thanks to the financial support of Swedbank. Dawsonera offers to work with editions by the world’s leading academic publishers, including Blackwell Publishing, Cambridge University Press, Elsevier, Oxford University Press, Routledge, Taylor & Francis, Wiley etc. The software allows reading the books online as well to download them for a limited period of time. Keywords for the ebook collection available at the National Library of Latvia are: management, education, marketing, social psychology, creative industries, and ecology. Currently there are 117 ebooks available.
