The catalogue system of the NLL consists of the electronic catalogue, central card catalogues, as well as the electronic and card catalogues, card indexes of the specialised departments.

• The Electronic Catalogue of the NLL contains the descriptions of all editions held in the Library collection: in Latvian, starting with 1990, in foreign languages – starting with 1996, and since 2000 – in Russian, irrespectively of the year of publication. The catalogue is regularly updated with the descriptions of most frequently demanded publications of the previous years in all languages. The conversion of the central card catalogues into the electronic form has been started.

The Electronic Catalogues of the Specialised Departments

• The Electronic Catalogue of the Department of Rare Books and Manuscripts contains information about manuscript collections and the description of all newly acquired rarities (old prints, graphic publications, maps, manuscripts), starting with January 1, 2002.
