Bibliographical and Factual Databases

Database of Graphic Editions, which at present provides insight both as bibliographical descriptions and visually into the following collections:

  • Collection of Latvian Posters (1899 - 2005)
  • Collection of Latvian and Foreign Postcards (end of the 19th c. - 1945)
  • Collection of Latvian and Foreign Ex-Libris (end of the 19th c. - 2005)
  • Collection of Latvian Prints and Miniature Prints (1866-1991)

Personalities of the Book Publishing Sector before 1918: Biographies. The database of the Department of Rare Books and Manuscripts provides information on personalities of the book publishing sector.

Letonica Description Items in Books - parts of books, chapters, paragraphs, fragments of texts, also pictures and similar. The creation of the database was started in 2004 from the new acquisitions of Letonica.

Database of the System of Periodicals contains information on the periodical editions published in Latvia (newspapers, magazines, newsletters, collections of articles) from 1940 to 1996.

Database of the Small Prints contains bibliographical descriptions of the publications held in the Collection of Small Prints from the end of the 18th century to the present.

On-line Terminology Bank: archives, libraries, museums. A joint project of the Directorate General of Latvia State Archives, the National Library of Latvia and the State Museum Administration.

Index to Printed Music in Collections: database of music scores included in collections and series. Each individual work is indexed by composer, title and collection. Vocal scores can be searched by the first line of text. Contains records from 2006 onwards, as well as the most sought-after collections.

Applied Sciences database:  database „Applied Sciences” contains analytic bibliographic records from monographs and encyclopedias in the collection of the National Library of Latvia about the origins and discovery of cultural objects, artefacts, goods and phenomenons as well as various aspects of medicine, agriculture, natural and technical sciences.
