"The Latvian Press Chronicle" is the national bibliographical index in a CD format, which on the basis of the system for delivering legal deposit copy in accordance with the 2006 Legal Deposit Law provides information about the publications published in Latvia (In the Letica section – also outside Latvia), irrespectively of their language or orthography. The Chronicle consists of the following sections: The Chronicle of Books; the Chronicle of Magazine and Newspaper Articles (Analytics), the Chronicle of Reviews and Letica (Latvia and Latvians in the global press). Several auxiliary indexes are offered to make searching for information more convenient:

• The Index of Persons contains both authors and other persons, who have been involved in preparing the document or the publication, or are mentioned in it;
• The Index of Titles contains book titles from The Chronicle of Books and from Letica;
• The ISBN Index contains book ISBN from The Chronicle of Books and Letica;
• The Index of Languages contains book ISBN from The Chronicle of Books and Letica;
• The Index of Languages of recordings from Letica;
• The Index of Sources contains the press editions that are included in The Chronicle of Magazine and Newspaper Articles and in Letica.

The Chronicle is published in electronic form since 2003 (from 1949 to 2006 it existed as a monthly publication in a printed form).
