In Search of Lost Latvia

The Collection accumulates unique information about lost and altered cultural heritage values of Latvia. The collection consists of digital copies of drawings, postcards and photos from time period starting the end of 19th century till recent times. Digital objects are supplemented with descriptions.

Latvian History of Civilization in Images. Part A: Portraits

The database contains portraits from the collection of the NLL and the State Archive of Latvia. Their originals (drawings, silhouette portraits, daguerreotypes and photographs) have been created prior to 1914. A great part of images shows individuals identified by the researchers of the history of civilization, however the database comprises unknown portraits, too (probably not to be identified any more).

Nonconformism in Graphic Art During Soviet Period in Latvia

Collection of nonconformist graphics from the period of the Soviet Latvia. Most of the works in the collection were produced in either prisons, exile or camps. The collection also includes several hundred works that are nonconformist not because of the author’s biography but because of their formal solutions and subject matter. Full access to the collection is available from internal network of the National Library of Latvia and nationwide network of public libraries "Lightnet".
