Digital Library
The NLL has been engaged in the building of Latvian National Digital Library “Letonica” since 2006. Its aim is to ensure digitising the collections of the NLL and other similar organisations, by making them accessible on the Internet. The creation of the digital library lays the foundation for uniform principles of processing, storing the digitised materials and ensuring access to them.
Digitising works at the NLL started in 1999. At present the Digital Library holds digitised collections of newspapers, pictures, maps, books, sheet-music and audio recordings.
We offer also other digital services in “24x7 regime”:
- Electronic article delivery – ordering and delivering of documents over e-mail from the National bibliography analytics database
- Electronic catalogues and databases – information about the NLL materials that can be obtained in the library
